Deleting Assemblies from a Project

The following instructions are for deleting an assembly from a project. Deleting the assembly does not delete it from the Assembly Gallery—only the requirement for it in this project is removed.

To delete an assembly from a project:

Select the Assemblies view. The assemblies currently in the Assembly Gallery display in the Explorer window. The check box is checked next to all of the assemblies that are currently selected to be referenced or installed by this project.
Select the assembly that you want to delete. At the top of the Properties window, the check box is checked next to the Product or feature that requires it. Verify that this is the assembly you want to delete from this project.
In the Explorer window, click the check box next to the assembly. The check box is no longer checked, and the requirement for it is removed from the project. The selected assembly is also automatically removed from the Installation Design view.
